TD Africa at ASUS Flagship Store

Nigeria’s tech retail space hit a remarkable milestone on Monday, 3rd of August, 2026, when the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh SAN, commissioned a new ASUS Flagship Store, developed in partnership with Konga, one of Nigeria’s leading e-commerce platforms, and sister company of TD Africa. The store is described as the first of its kind in Lagos, by extension, in West Africa.

Senior ASUS leadership, including the brand’s EMEA General Manager, Aaron Tsai, at the event emphasised ASUS’s dedication to continuing to invest in this market.

Speaking at the event, the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh SAN, said, β€œThe opening of the flagship store is an affirmation, a strong show of confidence by international business players in the science, technology and innovation ecosystem of Nigeria and, of course, in the potential of our market. And we know that ASUS is a big name, and Nigeria welcomes big players in our market, especially our innovation market.

He reiterated that his presence at the event represents a commitment to the technology ecosystem, driving collaboration between the government and the private sector because, for the economy to grow, the Presidency intends to achieve a one trillion dollar USD GDP economy, and this will have to be driven by the private sector, supported by the government.

Understanding how important the company ASUS is, its Nigerian partnership with Konga. The commissioning drew government officials, industry players, and media, positioning it as more than a store opening, a statement about where tech retail in the region is headed.

For a while now, Nigerian buyers haven’t just wanted access to genuine products; they’ve wanted the full experience: guided demos, real after-sales support, and the confidence that comes with buying through a trusted channel. The store is a direct response to that shift.

It also adds to a growing pattern: international tech brands are increasingly treating Nigeria not as a peripheral market, but as one of the continent’s most strategic digital economies. For distributors and resellers watching this space, the signal is clear: authenticity, hands-on experience, and reliable support are becoming the real differentiators, not just product availability.

Conclusion

What happened in Lagos today is bigger than a store opening. It’s a marker of where the Nigerian tech market is heading, and a signal that global brands are no longer just testing this region; they’re building for it. When a company like ASUS commits to a flagship presence, and does so in partnership with Konga, it validates something TD Africa has believed for a while now: that Nigerian consumers, resellers, and enterprise buyers deserve the same calibre of experience, support, and trust that exists in more established markets.

For TD Africa, as an authorised ASUS distributor working alongside Konga, this moment reinforces the direction we’ve already been building toward: closer partnerships with global brands, stronger channels for resellers, and a retail experience that matches the ambition of Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
The flagship store is a new benchmark, but it’s also a starting point. The real work now is making sure that standard reaches every reseller, every business buyer, and every corner of the market that has been asking for exactly this.
